Red River College Princess Campus

The facade of the Princess Campus is made up of five existing 19th. century storefront facades and a new intervention. The facades form a nucleus and facade skin for the new programmed block. The North brick façade was in poor structural condition, so each brick was removed, identified and archived by hand. Bricks were also reappropriated for new demising interior walls. Photographs of the original wall were used to direct the aesthetic component of the reconstruction phase. The 19th century façade was pressure washed and repointed. The metal cornices were restored and painted according to the original colours. The architectural intervention makes use of many prexisting internal walls. The community college is located in a UNESCO designated site.
